“An American Celebration: in aid of Pieta House” – National Concert Hall July 4th 2018 @ 8pm
I was delighted to recently launch this fund raising concert for Pieta House and looking forward to a great night on the 4th July.
This event will support the fantastic work undertaken by Pieta House. With over 85% of its funding coming from donations, Pieta House relies on the generosity of the public to continue to provide its life-saving services free of charge. Whatever I can do to support their continued services is a privilege.
Performing on the night is the Tacoma Concert Band from Washington, who are the premier community symphonic band of the Northwest of America. Under the direction of Robert Musser they will join forces with the renowned Artane Senior Band under the baton of Director Ronan O’Reilly. Also on stage on the night performing will be one of Ireland’s leading Tenors Paul Byrom.
A big thank you to all those taking part and for offering their ongoing support;
Reece Smyth – Chargé d’Affaires, USA Embassy
Brian Higgins – CEO Pieta House
Paul Byrom – One of Ireland’s leading Tenors
Ronan O’Reilly – Director, Artane School of Music
Keith Kelly – Performing Arts, Celtic Horizon Tours

In 2006, Pieta House opened its doors in Lucan, County Dublin and since that day we have seen and helped over 30,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm, and established twelve subsequent centres across Ireland.
From humble beginnings, Pieta House has grown to almost 270 therapists and administration staff, and the demand for our service hasn’t let up. In 2016 alone, almost 6,000 people came through our doors suffering from suicidal ideation and/or engaging in self-harm, or to avail of suicide bereavement counselling.
